I have a concept that may revolutionize electric cars if it is viable... but not the engineering know how. Tried to patent the basic form of the idea but it was done before I was born... but hasn't been furthered. Electric cars are the future... but how long?
The study is slightly flawed in that it takes place in the most polluting country in the world probably... which would drastically skew the outcome. It is amazing how environmentalists are quiet about China and aren't having "buy USA" promotions..... which could be the best thing for the worldwide environment.John in Kynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3395111825224617694.post-91631708995300269932012-02-14T12:41:34.294-08:002012-02-14T12:41:34.294-08:00First, you falsely represent how a Chevy Volt work...First, you falsely represent how a Chevy Volt works. It can travel up to 40 miles on electricity. Afterwards the combustion engine switches on to both power the vehicle and charge the depleted battery. Therefore, it can continue to travel as long as there is fuel in the gas tank.

Next, you are equating power generation in China with that it the United state. Yes, the UT study is correct, Chinese power plants are dirty, particulate spewing nightmares. The more they run, they more pollution they throw into the air. In the US, however, fossil fuel plants have strict regulations on particulates and other pollutants. Also, the US uses many other forms of less-polluting power generation - Hydroelectric, Solar, Wind, Nuclear.

To claim that what is true in China with regards to transportation and power generation would be true in the US is misleading if not down-right false.Greg S.noreply@blogger.com
